Sara Doubledee Memorial Educational Workshop Series
Dr. Sara L. Doubledee
March 28, 1946 - February 23, 2022
sara doubledee was a long-time member of mcqa.
She enjoyed quilting, learning new techniques and collecting a variety of quilting items, including a large stash of fabrics and notions. Sara’s memory will live on in our hearts and through our hands as we create treasures through a variety of workshops.
A generous donation of Sara’s estate to MCQA has established an educational workshop series for quilters. Funds from Sara’s donation will be used to pay costs related to venues and educators. There will be no charge for MCQA members to attend these workshops. Individuals who are not members of MCQA may participate in workshops if space is available.

Propose a Workshop
Do you have an idea for a workshop? How about a teacher or speaker you would like to see as part of the Sara Doubledee Memorial Educational Workshop Series? Read these event planning guidelines, and submit this workshop proposal form to the MCQA Education Coordinator at the email link below.
Workshop Guidelines
Non-members will be required to pay costs related to venues and educators in advance of the workshop. There will be no refunds for cancellations. The cost will be determined for each workshop. Any materials needed to complete a workshop project will be paid for by the individuals attending.
Registration for workshops will be on a first come, first served basis. If a workshop fills up, a waiting list will be created. If someone is on the waiting list for a workshop and does not get in, they will be given priority for registration for a following workshop. Priority for workshop attendance will always be given to MCQA members first. Participants may register by signing up at an MCQA meeting, or by contacting the individual workshop coordinator.
If a person registers for a workshop and does not show up, without contacting the workshop coordinator, they will not be able to register for future workshops in this series. There will be no refunds for no shows. Exceptions may be made for extreme circumstances at the workshop coordinator’s discretion.
